We've been here 5 times since moving to San Miguel de Allende. The food and service have always been superb. We would put Ryoko on par with the top sushi restaurants in San Francisco California. Our son who was visiting recently was blown away by how good it is. The only thing I can't recommend are the scallops. I think this has to do with the type of scallops available in Mexico as I've had the same issues with scallops prepared at home and in other locations in MX. They are tougher (chewier) and a bit gamier than the scallops we get in the USA. You might like them, I prefer something else instead. Anyway, there are plenty of options at Ryoko. I can't wait to try their ramen next time.

WOW! Everything was amazing! Hiroshi is a master at finding local ingredients to make traditional Japanese food! Had the 15 piece omakase and I can truly say it is the best Japanese restaurant in the country over Kyo in Mexico City (my previous favorite).

Deliciously Fresh Nigiri Great Atmosphere We came here for a late lunch and had the opportunity to try several dishes. We started with a miso soup, seaweed salad, and edamame - all of which were good. We then had the 3 types of sashimi (salmon, tuna & hamachi). The salmon was particularly good in the sashimi trio. We then had some nigiri (ama ebi, chu-toro and unagi) and rolls. The chu-toro was amazing and some of the best I’ve had. The ama-ebi was also very fresh and served with a deep fried shrimp head. We tried the spicy blue fin tuna, avocado, hamachi negi, spicy tuna & futomaki roll. I’d recommend the spicy tuna and futomaki however all were delicious. This was all paired with a dry sake recommended by our server. The chefs spoke English well, were chatty and told us about each dish. I’d come back here and would recommend it!

This place has some of the best sushi in Mexico. Their attention to detail and unique dishes make them stand out. Ive had my fair share of amazing Japanese restaurants and I can verify this place is legit. Drop by during lunch to experience some of the best hand made sushi. Presentation and explanation of each dish made them more savory. Edwin took care of us, he made us made feel at home. I read the previous reviews and if you have a food allergy stay at home. It’s not the restaurant responsibility to cater to your allergies. For anyone to leave such a thing during Covid when all restaurants are struggling is such a cowardly move. Says much of their character rather than the food and the experience.

This is one of those hidden gems. Went here for dinner after a wedding. Food was amazing, friendly and attentive staff, and awesome Chef and Captian. I never thought I would grab sushi in the middle of Mexico but definitely top notch I had in a while. I wish I took more photos of the food (I get to excited and eat them).
